SOUFARI SARAI RESTORATION
The project involves the restoration and development of the Soufari Serai to house and operate the General State Archives of the Prefecture of Ioannina. Located in the eastern part of the Castle of Ioannina near the Turkish library, the Soufari Serai was originally built in 1818 and served as the cavalry school of Ali Pasha. This significant structure is characterized by its substantial elongated stone design and four parallel roofs.
JEPA played a crucial role in the project by providing detailed MEP design for the facility. This included the planning of electromechanical installations as well as the preparation of Preliminary Design, Outline Design, Detailed Design, and Tender Documents. By ensuring the incorporation of modern systems within this historical building, JEPA helped preserve the Soufari Serai’s architectural integrity while enhancing its functionality for public use and efficient archival management.
