CECIL HISTORIC HOTEL TRANSFORMATION TO OFFICE BUILDING
The project concerns the transformation of the historic Cecil Hotel in Kefalari into modern office spaces, seamlessly blending preservation with contemporary design. Originally constructed as a multi-story building featuring 50 luxurious rooms, the hotel was inaugurated on July 10, 1924, making it a century-old structure that served affluent Athenians seeking a getaway in the picturesque countryside of Kifisia. The building spans an impressive area of 6,000 m². The renovation aimed to breathe new life into this iconic, 100-year-old edifice while maintaining its unique architectural character and cultural significance. The design process respected the hotel’s original features, ensuring that the façade and key interior elements were preserved and integrated into the new office layout. The revitalized building now offers a conducive work environment, highlighting spacious offices with natural light, collaborative areas, and modern amenities that cater to the needs of today’s workforce.
Significant updates included the installation of state-of-the-art electromechanical systems, enhancing energy efficiency and user comfort. Amenities such as conference rooms, breakout spaces, and advanced communication technologies were introduced, making the office space not only functional but also an inspiring place for innovation and creativity. JEPA played a crucial role in the detailed design of the electromechanical installations, ensuring that modern systems were effectively integrated while adhering to preservation guidelines. Our involvement guaranteed that the renovated Cecil Hotel met high standards of operational efficiency and safety, promoting a sustainable and engaging workspace that honors its historical roots.
